Thylacine realised early on that for him music-making is all about context. Rather than trying to extract creativity from long-studio sessions, the French producer has figured out that musically things flow for him when he’s out and about, travelling and wandering around. He became internationally known with his release Transsiberian, recorded in 2018 on the legendary Trans-Siberian express. The album paved the way for five other releases inspired by his excursions into the world. Moved by a sense of adventure and curiosity, his last album, 9 Pieces, collected tracks that were influenced by the different places he visited, taking listeners with him on a trip from Norway’s frozen sea to the Bosphorus’s shores of Turkey.
